I was invited by Dr. Bradly Nelson, creator of the Emotion/Body Code, to interview for a position on their Practitioner’s Spotlight, and thought I’d share that interview here with you.

How did you find out about The Emotion Code and The Body Code? *

When training seriously for a half marathon, I was stricken with chronic pain in my left foot and devastated by the fact that I tried everything, but absolutely nothing was working to heal it. A friend told me about The Emotion/Body Code and I immediately found an Emotion/Body Code practitioner. Within 2 months of working with my practitioner I started training again for the half marathon, which I completed 2 months later, and haven’t had any foot pain since. I was so thrilled and amazed by it, that I did research to find out everything I could about The Emotion/Body Code and decided to become a practitioner myself.

How do you think these healing methods compare to other energy healing modalities? *

Combined with my experience as an intuitive healer, this is the ideal platform for me to use effectively with amazing results. The Emotion/Bode Code deals with underlying causes and things such as meridian imbalances, pathogens, generational offensive energies, trapped and inherited emotions, and many other conditions that aren’t addressed by systems like reiki, acupuncture, etc.

What advice would you give to those that are new to either The Emotion Code or The Body Code? *

Trust! During a session we may go in many different directions and it may seem like a tangent, but the outcome becomes apparent in the end. The proof is in the positive results we have time and time again.

What differences do you see between our healing methods and the westernized medical/drug industry? *

It’s hard to make a comparison. Westernized medicine and pharmaceutical drugs dominate the medical scene, but The Emotion/Body Code taps on energies not commonly reached by Western medicine. Combining the two healing methods gives us a more comprehensive effectiveness. I find that dealing with the energy body, and releasing imbalances and trapped energies imperative to reach beyond Western medicine and tackle many things that plague those around us.  The Emotion/Bode Code balances the body and enables it to heal itself naturally.

Do you have a healing story that you could tell us about? *

I have many stories to tell of beautiful healing experiences. I will share one  here that is kind of funny, but this type of thing happens all the time. I was working with a woman who had an issue with her left arm that no other type of healing helped. At the end of our session I had her stand up and walk around. She shrieked with shock and delight and told me that her back no longer hurt. Originally, she had not shared any problems with her back with me so I was a bit surprised. She then told me that she has had a problem with her back for over 20 years and has been to every type of doctor and healer, and no one could help. She never even thought to talk to me about it as she was so accustomed to the pain and didn’t even think about it. Apparently during our session we released something that put her back into alignment. That was a year ago, and the back pain is still gone. Oh, and her arm issue is resolved also.

If you could tell the world about Dr. Nelson’s methods in one sentence, what would it be? *

Over and over again, in all varieties of cases, it works!

How do you see this work impacting the future of health care? *

This is absolutely a health care for the future. Reaching into the energy layers and past trapped emotional landscape has amazing consequences and results. We must take responsibility for our own health care if we want to live quality lives, and this healing modality is wildly effective for reaching these energies.

Healing, Faith, and Science

With lightning-fast advances in science and technology, we’re living in a time of advanced wonder and medical breakthroughs. With so much negative news surrounding us, it can seem like we’re living in an unsafe world, full of disheartening stories, disappointment, and fear, which tends to diminish our faith. Faith is a tremendously important part of our adapting, overcoming, and reacting positively to the world around us.  

When people lose faith, it’s easy to react with anger, impatience, feel trapped, get mad, and live in disappointment and fear. People without faith close their minds to the help of God and the universe reaching out to them. They live in bleakness, cut off from hope and optimism, until finally falling into despair. Our thoughts and beliefs direct the body’s intricate systems to function and stay healthy, reacting to all symptoms and conditions, and manifesting solutions. Faith saturates our belief system, nurturing and healing the body and mind, while transforming the spirit.

Changing Your Life in Under Two Minutes

What if you could change your life in under two minutes? It’d be great, who wouldn’t want to make that happen, right?

We can refocus, clarify, and de-stress our minds to be more meaningful and do just that. Wellness gurus share their expertise re-focusing with more meaningful results, and I want to share this wisdom with you. It begins with mindfulness and adding positive responses. 

The mini meditation is easy to do anywhere. On the in breath, think ‘I am’  and on the the out breath think ‘at peace’. If other thoughts intrude, just dismiss them and return to the meditation and mantra. Re-focusing, keep repeating and return to the mantra whenever you need.

Do a burst of exercise, like 50 jumping jacks, followed by a minute of stretching. Doing fifty jumping jacks in a minute releases endorphins (feel-good hormones) and fights cortisol (stress hormone). Your mind also shifts its focus from the stressors and focuses on the exercise at hand. Move, stretch, do a yoga pose or qigong.

Remember to laugh. Laughter releases endorphins or “feel good” hormones. These hormones lead to feelings of euphoria, which aid in reducing stress and even decreasing pain.

Be curious, look with new eyes, feel the air on your skin, if you’re eating or drinking, notice the taste or texture.
Be mindful and cast your attention on new sense perceptions.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, try listening to some calming music. Studies have found that playing relaxing music has a positive effect on the brain and body by lowering lower blood pressure and reducing your levels of cortisol, a hormone linked to stress. If music isn’t your thing, try listening to the sounds of rain falling or ocean waves.

Write it out. Sit down and write your thoughts out out as quickly as you think of them. It’s the equivalent of venting. Then rip the paper in as many pieces as you’d like, letting the negative energy out as you do so. Then throw it all away.

Take a moment and have a cup of tea. The ritual itself is comforting and calming. You might even let warm water run over your hands and let the stress go. It’s very relaxing.

In the office? Take a break and turn your attention to clouds outside, walking or looking out the window. Clouds change shape and move just like your thoughts, and every several minutes give you a new perspective.

Running late in traffic? Focus on what situations you can control, and accept what you can’t control. Then focus on remaining calm and practice acceptance.

It only takes two minutes of being present in a moment to create positive impact, more meaningful relationships and mindfulness moving forward.

Energy At The Cellular Level

We’re made up of subatomic particles – cells of energy – electrons, neutrons, protons, and quarks that have the capacity to shift and transform. This is typical of anything that has matter – solid, physical, or gaseous, seen or unseen. By and large, if it exists, it has energy and can shift and transform its energy.

The chair you sit on, the food you eat, the air you breathe – all made up of molecular components, brought together through reactions, repulsions, and electromagnetic forces. Elements, made up of electrons and protons, combine to form bigger, and bigger arrangements– which eventually, in some cases, result in seeable matter. But sometimes, electrons and protons combine to form things we cannot see.

We are a walking, breathing energy body of energy, particles and waves. Some parts of us can be seen and felt, like our physical body.

Air. Emotions. Thoughts. Sound. The Entire Spectrum of Light.

These things exist, yet can’t always be seen with human eyes.

Parts of us like our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and experiences are invisible to the eye, often referred to as our Spirit or spiritual body. Our physical body and our spiritual body are made of of energy particles and waves and is referred to as our energetic body.

Energy interactions in and between the spiritual body – thoughts, feelings, emotions, experiences, and interactions between yourself, and another person, place, or event create energy exchanges between individuals. One as the sender of energy, and the other as the receiver of energy.

Because our spiritual body is not physically dense and of solid matter, it’s also not limited in its actions by physical proximity or space. What I mean by this, is that when we have a thought, feeling, emotion, or particular experience, the energy of that interaction or emotion may not remain entirely with you. And the same goes for another person, when someone else has a thought, feeling, or emotion, the energy is not trapped inside the confines of a physical space.

Everything that we see, everything that we touch and feel, is experienced by our energy body and reaches us on a cellular level.

The Power of Affirmations

Affirmations are powerful transformation tools. Positive affirmations help on the mental, physical, and emotional level and give the mind and intellect a task to aid in the healing.

Studies show that our thoughts, words and emotions have a large affect on our physical bodies. Our very cells respond to our thoughts and feelings, taking cues from the self-talk we keep in our minds. Positive emotions caused by affirmations are a powerful anti-toxin for the cells in your body. Imagine being able to repeat affirmations to change every cell in our body and have more control of how we feel, physically and emotionally.

Affirmations can be used as seeds for energizing intention. As you plant an intention and affirm the affirmation, it grows and develops.

Many of us have negative thoughts and beliefs running through our heads that we’re not even aware of. We’ve had them for so long they have become who we are and these negative thoughts become self-fulfilling. No wonder why some people have the same problems in their relationships, careers and finances, over and over again. We don’t want to deny our negative emotions, but we don’t want to live in them.  Affirmations are an excellent tool for releasing the negative and infusing the positive for transformative change and positive growth.

Ways to Stop Leaking and Losing Your Spiritual Energy


Some of the most common reasons for energy leaking found in the wisdom writings include:

1.) Body-mind exhaustion due to overdoing and failure to add relaxation to our schedule. An exhausted body-mind becomes filled with holes and energy drains away. Create time for relaxation and creativity.

2.) Dis-ease of the physical body. When we’re overdoing and stressed, our immune system weakens and we develop disease easily.

3.) Excess emotional reactions. A cognitive neuroscientist wrote, “The ability to regulate one’s strength of emotional response is highly adaptive: it stops us from investing too much energy into [certain] things.” When you speak with anger, for example, you loose your calm presence and energy drains as painful regrets follow.

4.) Losing contact with natural happiness, reverie and joy. Living too much in the serious and critical mental world leaves us significantly drained. Add some playful distraction and enjoyment.

5.) Rigid, strongly held beliefs or opinions. Gripping tightly and unyielding to those things hardens your attitude, creates friction, and drains energy. Try to take an open-minded stance and remain pliable, flexible, and connect with others.

6.) Unclear boundaries and relationships. Seeing your relationships clearly and defined is important, because using or being used by other people depletes your energy.

7.) Mindless, unconscious chatter, speech, or gossip. Idle conversation can be depleting. Don’t forget to take in silence and recharge yourself.

Other energy leaks include addictions, wrong practices, eating the wrong foods, feeling over-whelmed, feeling out-of-control, not feeling cared for, and many other situations in our modern world.

A good way to add energy to your life can found in relaxing walks through nature. Take the time to disconnect from the stress and exercise the body, mind, and soul. Deep breathing, relaxing in peaceful settings while enjoying the beauty of nature works wonders on many levels.

When you wake up, stretch and feel gratitude, imagine yourself being revitalized with energy and light. Connect with something spiritually higher. Do something nice for yourself and smile to those you meet. It brings happiness to others and you’ll feel your energy increase.
